From behind the milky mist of floating clouds,
admiring earth’s beauty from the darkness of his skies...
Hiding, peeping,
secretly enjoying his freedom;
from her sheltered shadows all fortnight…
He reflects majestic sheen for once…
in the restless ocean mirrors of her tearing salty eyes...
Envious... just today;
as her moon flaunts his radiance, detached…
… undespised …
Raging at the horizon, swelling voluptuous waves
foaming into magnificent roars of emotions;
longing for her beloved
… to snuggle back in the tamed warmth of her bosom…
Whilst he, henpecked;
yearns his own existence…
until the next full moon blossoms…
Penning a wandering though in the moonlight….
as ears enjoy the sounds of the hypnotized sea
Thanks to the gravitational magic of the mighty moon…..!!!
admiring earth’s beauty from the darkness of his skies...
Hiding, peeping,
secretly enjoying his freedom;
from her sheltered shadows all fortnight…
He reflects majestic sheen for once…
in the restless ocean mirrors of her tearing salty eyes...
Envious... just today;
as her moon flaunts his radiance, detached…
… undespised …
Raging at the horizon, swelling voluptuous waves
foaming into magnificent roars of emotions;
longing for her beloved
… to snuggle back in the tamed warmth of her bosom…
Whilst he, henpecked;
yearns his own existence…
until the next full moon blossoms…

DeleteThanks for your many lovely comments :)
ReplyDeleteIt is always a treat to read your much awaited works.
"Taming the Moon" on a deeper note describes that bond between a mother and her growing up child... how he seeks to explore the world and how her caring side tries to safeguard him in her warmth...
I loved how you personified the Earth and the Moon to depict that loving relation. Beautiful poem.
Tasha, I saw most of your poems when I opened blogspot to publish mine...
DeleteIn my delay, I think I missed out one.... "A Brave Front'.
In "Taming the moon', I was actually thinking of a marriage...
I guess to effectively write about mother child, I will have to wait 'just a little bit more...' to experience it first hand.... :) But like the idea alot....
so beautifully you have expressed the feeling between mother and a child.... very nice
