Heart aches for more....
but more of what???
The power earned from working behind a desk
or cuddling my bleating lamb, kissing his warm vulnerable face?
Long lost candle light dinners under the starry skies
or impulsive drives on endless roads with carefree minds?
Hectic pliable hours playing housewife
or peacefully rigid office; nine to five?*
Lazing aimlessly on couch all weekend
or taming my toddler in zoo... am sure those animals are entertained....
Life has come a long way...
Have achieved tiny bit more than expected.
But this heart still greeds an ocean,
for frivolously adventures, love, abhor : mingled emotions!!!

Not all might concur with the *ed line... but I am affirmative that all the working mothers will know exactly what I mean by "peacefully rigid office".... ;)
:) Join the club dear! ...the secret lies in striking that golden balance towards 'a bit of both'...and sadly its the hardest part for mums. I loved the phrase "heart greeds an ocean". The little'peace' amid the 'rigidness'is the fun part :)
ReplyDeleteReading your post, brings back a verse of Mirza Ghalib, "Hazaroo Khuwaishey aisey, ke her khuwaish pe dum niklay. Buhut nikley dil ke armaan, phir bhi kam nikley".
ReplyDeleteKeep it up awesome mum! Remember the most extraordinary thing about motherhood is finding a piece of yourself separate and apart that all the same you can't live without.
